Catch the exclusive interview by Kannan for The Hindu Business Line He set up Vortex Engineering in 2001. It was by chance that Vortex Engineering got into making ATMs. After several iterations in association with IIT-Madras, Vortex designed an ATM that could be installed in rural areas. Now, Vortex has about 700 machines installed across the country and has also developed an ATM that can be installed in urban areas, branded Ecoteller.
Once the ATM business started growing, Kannan decided to move the textile machinery business out of Vortex and founded Microspin Machine Works, in 2011. He is the CEO and Director of Microspin.
Microspin is a start-up company born out of the vision to radically transform what is arguably the oldest industry of India – Textiles. Armed with a slew of innovative and patent-pending technologies, Microspin has forged a transformative architecture of textile production and marketing that is simultaneously inclusive, eco-friendly and profitable.
